Join us for our inaugural Relaxed Hour in the exhibition Arpita Singh: Remembering.
Relaxed Hour is a dedicated time for anyone who might benefit from a more spacious, gentle environment. This sessions are designed for visitors who experience sensory sensitivities, neurodivergent individuals, people with neurological conditions, and anyone who would appreciate a quieter, less crowded experience. Families, friends, and carers are warmly welcome.
During Relaxed Hour, there are no lighting effects or music in the gallery. It’s completely fine to talk or make noise in the space, and ear defenders are available upon request.
This is a ticketed event to help manage reduced capacity and ensure comfort for all visitors. Tickets are free, and donations are welcome.
About the exhibition
Remembering is the first solo institutional exhibition of Arpita Singh outside India, featuring key works selected in close collaboration with the artist from her prolific career spanning more than six decades. Arpita Singh was born in 1937 in Baranagar, then Bengal Presidency, now West Bengal, and moved to New Delhi with her family in 1946 where she has since lived and worked. Singh’s paintings centre on her emotional and psychological state, drawing from Bengali folk art and Indian stories, interwoven with experiences of social upheaval and global conflict. Find out more
