Explore the Museum at a quieter time
Our free Family Explorer event is for children with special educational needs, disabled children, and their families, we open outside our regular hours on certain special days.

Meet Santa
Santa will be landing his sleigh at the Museum to meet families. Step into a magical winter scene where little ones can climb aboard Santa’s interactive sleigh adorned with buttons, bells and lights for imaginative play. Santa’s helpful elves will be on hand to welcome families and help them take the perfect festive family photo.

Explore the Museum
Enjoy the Museum at a quieter time, free from the general public, and with many of the gallery sounds turned off.

This special time offers a calm opportunity to explore our All Aboard family spaces and exhibition spaces in peace. Get hands-on with genuine parts of transport history, or make use of our sensory bags to support exploring the collection.

If at any point you or a member of your family needs to take a moment of quiet to self regulate, please do feel free to make use of our quiet spaces. They are located at on the first floor by the All Aboard Play area, and on the ground floor by the toilets.

Tickets
Advanced book is essential.
Tickets for children and one accompanying adult are free.
Additional adult tickets cost £18.50. Concessions available.
