Museum and Heritage Access Survey 2020

VocalEyes together with Stagetext and Autism in Museums are researching the museum visitor experience for people who use access support – this may be facilities, resources or events. We are undertaking a national survey of visitors which is the first of its kind. It will reveal what people with access requirements need from our museums and heritages sites, and how well these venues are currently supporting them. Responses will be published and disseminated in a report later in 2020, which we hope will catalyse further discussion and improvement in access provision.

These are difficult times, and it is uncertain when museums and heritage sites will be able to re-open. Those engaged in the sector are working hard to support each other, their visitors and their venue’s future. We recognise that everyone is juggling multiple demands at this time. As access and inclusion remain vital to the sector in the future, we feel seeking the feedback and opinions of visitors remains an important endeavour. We would therefore be very grateful if you would help circulate this survey, to support as wide an uptake as possible.

With thanks and best wishes,
Matthew Cock, CEO, VocalEyes
Melanie Sharpe, CEO, Stagetext
Claire Madge, Founder, Autism in Museums
